DID YOU KNOW THAT HEAVEN IS A GIFT?

Have you come to the place in your life where you know for certain that if you were to die tonight you would go to heaven?

Suppose you were to die today and stand before God and He were to say to you, “Why should I let you into my heaven? “ what would you say?

Did you know that heaven (eternal life) is a GIFT?

Romans 6:23 says, “FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH, BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.”

A gift is something you don't work or pay for. Since eternal life is a gift, it is not earned. We don't deserve this gift because of one problem – SIN.

Romans 3:23 says “FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD.”

Sin is anything you think, say, and do that is against the will of God. Sin is also not doing what God wants you to do.

All of us have sinned and there's nothing we can do to go to heaven. If you want to be saved by being good or doing lots of good works, you have to do it according to God's standard.

James 2:10 says, “FOR WHOEVER SHALL KEEP THE WHOLE LAW, AND YET STUMBLE IN ONE POINT, HE IS GUILTY OF ALL.”

God's standard is perfection. If you want to go to heaven by your good works, you need to do them according to God's standard of perfection. Can you do that? No matter how much good works we do, still, we are not perfect. There's no way we can save ourselves.

GOD is merciful. He doesn't want to punish us. But God is also just. He must punish us.

Revelation 21:8 says “BUT THE COWARDLY, UNBELIEVING, ABOMINABLE, MURDERERS, SEXUALLY IMMORAL, SORCERERS, IDOLATERS, AND ALL LIARS SHALL HAVE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNS WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH.”

How can God be merciful and just at the same time? God's justice and mercy is seen in the person of Jesus CHRIST, the Son of God.

John 3:16 says “FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.”

Romans 5:8 says “BUT GOD DEMONSTRATES HIS OWN LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.”

Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross to pay for your sins. That's how much God loves you. Now, He offers you eternal life as a gift.

The only way to receive this gift is by FAITH (John 3:16). Faith is believing in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died to pay for yours sins and He alone can save you from eternal punishment.

You can express to Jesus Christ your desire to trust him for your salvation by receiving Him in your heart as your Lord and Savior.

John 1:12 says “BUT AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM, TO THEM HE GAVE THE RIGHT TO BECOME CHILDREN OF GOD, TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN HIS NAME.”

Jesus Christ wants to come in to your life and and have a personal relationship with you.

He says in Revelations 3:20, “BEHOLD, I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK. IF ANYONE HEARS MY VOICE AND OPENS THE DOOR, I WILL COME IN TO HIM AND DINE WITH HIM, AND HE WITH ME.”

If you receive Jesus in your life, you receive the gift of eternal life.

1 John 5:12 says “HE WHO HAS THE SON HAS LIFE; HE WHO DOES NOT HAVE THE SON OF GOD DOES NOT HAVE LIFE.”

Do you want trust Jesus Christ alone for your salvation? Tell the following to Him with all your heart.

“Lord God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Forgive me of all my sins. I can do nothing to save my self. Thank you for sending your Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sins. I heard his voice, I open my heart to him, and I receive Him now as my Lord and Savior. This I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”
